Finding a good back pack for your laptop can often be a hard process. Sure, you could angrily stuff your prized notebook into your ordinary backpack like everyone else, but what happens when you accidentally drop the bag? Would your laptop survive the fall?

Thankfully, for those of us who don't really like carrying briefcases around, Logitech have a solution for us with the Kinetik 15.4, a new backpack designed to safely hold your laptop and a whole lot more.

We've been testing it for the past week or so by carrying it on public transport and its size can be a bit jarring when you try to fit into the tight sardine cans that are the packed morning trains.
This is because the two main compartments are protected by a large ethylene vinyl acetate composite exterior that protrudes from the front of the backpack, but without this it wouldn’t be as strong.

If you were to fall backwards, the heavy exterior would protect your notebook from the fall. If you were to fall forwards, you would be the first thing to protect your backpack. This isn't so bad and the amount of padding helps to reinforce any notion you might have had that this bag won't be doing its job when the time comes for needed protection.

On your back, the Kinetik feels well weighted. We've tested it with both laptops and cameras in it and the load felt evenly dispersed.

One area where it falls over though is the look. While we like the bright red interior and straps, we couldn't help but feel that the black exterior needed something more to offset it from just your standard run of the mill laptop bag.

Still, if you're after a bag that feels great and protects all of your equipment including your coveted notebook, you can't go wrong with the new Logitech Kinetik 15.4. With an RRP of $149, it’s a definite buy if you need a good laptop bag.

Pros

  • Comfy
  • Great protection

Cons

  • Bulky
  • While we liked the orange & black, the looks could be jazzed up
  • Not exactly the best for public transport
