Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote

Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote

Logitech’s Spotlight Presentation Remote could be the answer to all those who suffer from confidence when it comes to making speeches that require presentations. I’ve never been a fan of laser pointers – too distracting and annoying. Would this be any better? In a word: yes.

Out of the box it is about 13cm in length and comes in a gold or steel grey colour. It is made of brushed steel and feels very comfortable in the hand. It has three buttons – a pointer button and two navigation buttons that allow you to go forward and back between slides.

It is a very lightweight device and is easy to use.So how does it work? Basically it’s like a torch that you can shine on parts of your presentation on a white board or projector screen. Sounds simple, and it is, but it also has a few tricks up its sleeve.

It has three buttons – a pointer button and two navigation buttons that allow you to go forward and back between slides. The spotlight button offers several functions (which you have to set via the Spotlight app). This includes the ability to magnify part of the presentation onscreen. This is a handy tool to have when you want to highlight an important point. Users can also highlight a section of the presentation, while the rest of the page is darkened. You can also circle a piece of the presentation, again, to highlight an aspect of what is being shown to an audience.

Also, there is no cord, so you can navigate up to 30 metres away, which again is good if you are in an auditorium or big office and don’t want to become a distraction by being too close to the screen. There is a USB dongle at one end, which when pulled out allows users to use the USB port to charge the device. The dongle can be connected to your computer via Bluetooth so you can then start up your presentation.

Overall, the Spotlight Presentation Remote is a nifty little gadget that should supercede laser pointers as a device that will complement any presentation.
