Sony Australia unveiled today the Cyber-shot HX50V which the company dubs as the world’s smallest and lightest digital still camera with a 30x optical zoom range.

Sony Australia unveiled today the Cyber-shot HX50V which the company dubs as the world’s smallest and lightest digital still camera with a 30x optical zoom range.
The Cyber-shot HX50V features a 20.4 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and BIONZ processor which helps the camera produce high-resolution, and high quality images even in low-light conditions.
The HX50V also sports an Optical SteadyShot camera-shake compensation that ensures image quality is not compromised even when taking pictures on the move, a feature that also works even at 30x zoom. And with integrated Wi-Fi users can easily share the images they’ve taken quickly and easily with family and friends.
For more advanced photographers, the HX50V also include an adjustable dial that lets users change various shooting settings including exposure compensation and P/A/S/M modes. There’s also a Multi Interface Shoe for attaching compatible electronic viewfinders, flashes, and other accessories that can improve better video and sound quality for movie recording.
This camera can capture full HD movies (50p) and is compatible with Triluminos Colour technology that provides rich, natural colours when viewed on any Triluminos display TV. Moreover, the HX50V comes with GPS log recording function that remembers where photos were taken.
The Cyber-shot HX50V will be available in Australia starting June 1st with a suggested retail price of $499.
