Sony today announced two new Walkman Video MP3 players – the Walkman E580 and Walkman E380 that boast generous battery life and the company’s Clear Audio technologies.

The Walkman E580 gives up to 77 hours of play time from a single battery charge. It also has a ClearAudio+ mode that provides clear stereo, crystal-clear highs and undistorted bass.  The E580 also features DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) that restores subtle high frequency details that usually gets lost during compression. There’s also VPT (Virtualphones Technology) that adds extra dimension to a user’s listening experience with authentic ambience of a studio, club or arena.

The E580 also comes with a digital noise cancelling feature that reduces intrusive background sounds by up to 98%.

On the other hand the E380 comes with Clear Bass and Clear Stereo that keeps left/right channels cleanly separated. A Dynamic Normaliser is also present which reduces sudden unexpected jumps in volume between tracks when listening in shuffle mode. There’s also a 5-band equaliser with presets and custom settings to fine-tune sound according to your tastes.

Sony said that Europeans will be the first to get these video MP3 players this month, with pricing information to be announced shortly with information on availability to other markets.
