Sony today announced its latest smartwatch, the creatively named SmartWatch 3. Unlike the SmartWatch 2, Sony’s new wearable eschews the company’s own operating system for Android Wear.

While competitors such as Asus, Motorola and LG have gone for a more premium look with their latest wearables, Sony has opted for a sportier appearance. The rugged, pebble-shaped device sits in a removable silicon strap and the device has an IP68 waterproof rating.

The SmartWatch 3 has almost identical to every other Android Wear device currently available and announced. Its 1.6-inch screen runs at 320×320 pixels, it has a 4GB of inbuilt storage, a 1.2Ghz processor and a 420mAh battery. Sony says this will provide up to two days of standard usage.
