Samsung's Galaxy TabPro S is taking on the iPad Pro and Surface
Samsung today announced Australian availability of the Galaxy TabPro S; a competitor to Apple’s iPad Pro and Microsoft’s Surface tablets. Windows 10 Home versions will start at AUD$1,499 and Windows 10 Pro versions will cost AUD$1,649. The TabPro S will be available from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and Samsung’s online and physical stores from the 1st of April.
The TabPro S features some of the most powerful mobile hardware Samsung has. Featuring a Intel Core M Skylake processor, 12” 1440p AMOLED display, a 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM, it ought to rival some dedicated laptop devices.
With all that power, the device manages to be compact and portable - weighing in at only 693 grams and 6.3 mm thin. A touchpad-enabled keyboard cover is included with the TabPro S; it’s adjustable to two positions for the screen. Battery life on the TabPro S is expected to be quite good, at around 10.5 hours.
Samsung Flow is a new feature enabling the Galaxy S7 and TabPro S to work together. Users can log in with the fingerprint reader on their S7 phone and reply directly to the phone’s notifications from the TabPro S.
Windows 10 Home and Pro editions are available with Wi-Fi from today, and 4G models are expected in the near future. Extra accessories including a Bluetooth pen and multi-port adapter for HDMI and USB connections will also be available soon.
