Polaroid has long been a trusted brand when it comes to cameras in general. This week, the company reaffirms its position in the camera-making industry by announcing new models that feature Wi-Fi connectivity and Ultra High Optical Zoom.

There are actually four models that were announced at CES, each towing a lens with up to 50x optical zoom. Three of the cameras are equipped with an 18MP sensor and packs a 50x, 40x and 35x optical zoom. The last variant offers 30x optical zoom but compensates by having a 20MP sensor.

All models feature a bright 3-inch LCD screen, a pop-up flash, red-eye reduction feature and Wi-Fi instant peer-to-peer sharing feature allowing users to easily transfer captured images to smartphones and tablets using a wireless network.

Pricing for the cameras starts at US$149 for the 30x model up to US$299 for the 50x variant. The cameras are expected to hit retail shelves around Q2 2014.
