Microsoft fixes Skype

Don't you hate it when you get a message on Skype on your laptop, and then get a notification for it on your phone, even though you've already read it. It's enough to drive you insane, or at least, to disable Skype's mobile push notifications. Fortunately, Microsoft today announced that they have finally fixed this.

Don't you hate it when you get a message on Skype on your laptop, and then get another notification for it on your phone, even though you've already read it? It's enough to drive you insane, or at least to disable Skype's mobile push notifications. Fortunately, Microsoft today announced that they have finally fixed this.

When you're actively using Skype, notifications will now only go the device you're currently using. If you're not actively Skyping, notifications will go to every device you're signed in to, and call notifications will always goes to every device.

According to the Skype blog, Microsoft are rolling out this enhancement over the new couple of weeks, so users should notice a few less beeps imminently. Microsoft all recommend running the latest versions of Skype on all devices.
